C1 / D1 Axle Question. A friend of mine has a 2001 F350 Diesel, her spider gear blew apart causing some damage. Her Dad "Donated" his wrecked 2004 F250 5,4 gasser as a parts rig..... So the F350 axle is "D1" 3.73 LS (axle tag 3s409H 3l73 10 5 1f13) The F250 is "C1" 3.73 LS.The tag should be: 3S 409H. 3L 73 10 5 1B16. 3S is the Sterling Heights, Michigan Visteon (formerly Sterling) plant. 409H is the axle model and revision. 3L 73 is a 3.73 ratio with Limited Slip. 10 5 is 10.5" ring gear diameter. 1B16 is the manufacturing date code for February 16th 2001.
